SLURRY-BED FISCHER-TROPSCH SYNTHESIS PROCESS

Our proprietary slurry-phase Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process produces 1,200 tons of C3+ hydrocarbon products per ton of iron based catalyst consumed. This production rate is three times as much as the industrial average in 2007 for conventional slurry-phase processes.

  • Easily retrofitted to both coal and natural gas processes
  • A lower (about one-fourth) solid catalyst charge due to the ultra-active catalyst used
  • Efficient cogeneration of reaction heat from the slurry-bed reactor
  • Production of high quality synthetic crudes with very low oxygenate and about one-third less acids
  • Very uniform temperature distribution in the slurry-bed
  • Highly efficient separation of catalyst from the wax
  • High overall energy conversion efficiency from coal: 42.01% for demonstration plants and 44-47% for commercial plants
  • Produces premium ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel with a high cetane number (>75) compared to traditional diesel

STEPWISE LIQUEFACTION

Stepwise liquefaction consists of two sub-processes: (1) partial liquefaction (hydro-pyrolysis) of the feedstock and (2) gasification of residuals, followed by our patented Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process.

This novel process is more energy-efficient than the conventional Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process, and can be used to convert a variety of feedstocks, like low-rank coal, heavy oil, coal tar, and biomass.

  • The overall energy efficiency is 50-55%
  • The reaction conditions of partial hydrogenation are milder than those of the direct liquefaction technology
  • The oil product produced from stepwise liquefaction technology is easy to refine and blend, and is suitable for the production of high quality gasoline and diesel

DIESEL REFINING

Our diesel product refining process converts synthetic crude into clean diesel fuel and other hydrocarbons. It can be incorporated into the CTL process to convert light olefins to middle distillates, crack heavy wax to diesel, and shift straight-chain alkanes to branched-chain alkanes.

  • Ultra-low sulfur in product refining process
  • High yield of diesel from wax via hydrocracking process
  • High yield of dimeric-hydrocarbons from light olefin via oligomerization
  • High yield liquid branched-chain alkanes via hydroisomerization

The diesel refining process consists of:

  • Hydrogenation using non-sulfided catalyst
  • Hydrocracking using non-sulfided catalyst
  • Hydroisomerization using non-noble metal catalyst
  • Oligomerization with C3-C9 olefins

GASOLINE REFINING

Our gasoline refining technology produces a cleaner-burning gasoline with better fuel economy than conventional gasoline. This superior fuel comes from Fischer-Tropsch synthetic crudes, and has several advantages.

It is best suited for the refining of Fischer-Tropsch synthetic crudes for cleaner gasoline products that are ultra-low in sulfur and low in olefins.

  • Better fuel economy than conventional gasoline
  • Cleaner emissions than conventional gasoline
  • Ultra-low sulfur and low olefin content in the gasoline product
  • Low aromatics content

GASIFICATION USING DRY-FEED ENTRAINED FLOW-BED

Gasification technology is used for the gasification of carbon-based solid materials. This technology can be applied for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, methanol synthesis, and other conversion processes using syngas.

  • Dry feed with a capacity of 4,000 tons per day of coal
  • High carbon conversion
  • Efficient solid pump
  • Side-wall burners and internal quench
  • H2-rich syngas
  • Optimized wastewater treatment process
